Add your first widget
These instructions work for every Spud Widget, including clocks, countdowns, trackers, weather, moon phase, and daylight.

Choose a widget
Open the widget collection and select Customize on the widget you want. This opens its builder, not the stripped-down embed page.

Make it fit your page
Adjust the colors, text, location, layout, and other available settings. Use the Wide, Short, or Tall preview when the builder provides one.

Copy the embed link
Select the builder's copy button. For Notion, copy the customized URL that begins with
https://widgets.robotpotato.net/—you do not need iframe code. -
Create an Embed block in Notion
Open your Notion page, click an empty line, type
/embed, and choose Embed. Paste the copied widget link into the field and confirm it. -
Resize and position it
Hover over the embed and drag the black side handles. Move it with the ⋮⋮ block handle, or drag another block beside it to create columns.

Make it look right
Choose a useful starting size
There is no single required size. Start with the shape below, then drag the Notion handles until every detail is visible without unnecessary empty space.

Change it later
Replace an existing widget link
A builder and a widget already placed in Notion are not connected. That is how Spud Widgets works without accounts or a database.
Return to the builder
Use the small Customize link on the widget or open its builder from the Spud Widgets homepage.
Choose the new settings
Make the changes and copy the newly generated link.
Replace the source in Notion
Hover over the embed, open its ⋮⋮ or ••• menu, choose Replace, select Embed link, and paste the new URL.
Quick fixes
Troubleshoot common embed problems
It appears as a bookmark
Delete or undo the bookmark, type /embed, and paste the customized widget URL into the Embed block.
The bottom is cut off
Drag the embed's lower edge downward or choose a shorter layout in the widget builder.
My changes do not appear
Copy the newly generated link and replace the old embed source. Refreshing alone will not change its saved URL settings.
The widget is too small
Widen the block, turn on Full width, or reduce the widget's size setting in its builder.
It says Failed to Load
Confirm you copied the complete link beginning with https://. Then open that link in a browser tab to verify it loads.
Mobile feels cramped
Use the mobile + menu to add an Embed block. Precise sizing and column layouts are usually easier on desktop.

Notion widget FAQ
Do I need a Spud Widgets account?
No. Your customization settings are stored in the generated link, so there is no account, sign-in, or widget limit.
Can I add a widget from the Notion mobile app?
Yes. Tap the + in Notion's editing toolbar, choose Embed, and paste the widget link. Desktop is usually easier for final sizing.
Will a widget work on a public Notion page?
Yes. The widget loads from its public embed URL, so visitors can see it when they can view the Notion page.
Do tracker results sync between devices?
No. Interactive tracker data stays in the browser on each device. This keeps the widgets account-free, but a phone and computer maintain separate records.
Can I place several widgets on one page?
Yes. Add separate Embed blocks and arrange them vertically or in columns. Each widget has its own customized URL.
Is the widget link private?
No. Anyone who can view the Notion page may be able to open the embed's source. Avoid putting private information in widget labels or titles.
